Annual Sports Day is an important event in the life of every school. Sports themselves have a vital role in making a child sound physically as well as mentally.
The Annual Sports Day of Wordbridge School was held on 28th of January, 2023 at the Govt. Physical Education College, Mohammadpur, Dhaka.
The Sports Day began with the releasing of Balloons and Festoons to declare the sports day open, followed by Quran Telawat and hoisting of National Flag, School Flag and Sports Flag. The Flag hoisting honours were done by Dr. Mohitur Rahman (Director Wordbridge School), Ruhi Firdaus Zaman (Principal) & Chameli Sattar Medina (Vice Principal) with the National Anthem being sung by all present. Duly the National oath, Sports oath were taken followed by the lighting of the torch.
Mr. Shahin Reza, Country Manager, Cambridge Assessment International Education, graced the occasion as the special guest. He shared his valuable words with us to encourage the participants and lauded everyone involved in arranging this grand event. Mr. Javed Noman, DMD of Younus Group also graced the occasion as an honoured guest.
After this there was a March Past by students of the School and a dazzling display of dance, song, drill and Taekwondo which left the spectators amazed.
Then an array of track and field events started with participants actively competing against one another in a spirit of true sportsmanship. Prize distribution was done after completion of every event.
A football match was played between students of Class-IX to XII to add to the thrill and excitement of this day.
Finally, the moment arrived to bring the curtains down on this grand event, leaving everyone a little tired but contented and eagerly looking forward to the next Annual Sports Day.
