“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn”. We believe in this quote of Benjamin Franklin and practice it in Wordbridge School. We feel it is true not only for the young learner, but for us, the educators too. So, the school arranges different training programs to sharpen skills of the teachers and management staff. We believe ongoing learning leads to development, be it for our students, or the teachers.
In the last month, we had the opportunity of enlightening ourselves with three training programs. All the three programs were held online where we could learn effective teaching strategies through interactive online sessions. The facilitating groups were Cambridge and Schobal.com, an online training platform based in India.
The first training was on 'Using picture book video read-alouds in primary ELT' which was held on 12 July 2021. It was a wonderful session conducted by Gail Ellis and Tatia Gruenbaum. The hour long webinar was designed for teachers to have a vivid idea on the techniques and methods of how and when to use the picture book learning. The main objective of the training was to improvise effective and efficient use of pictorial teaching tools in class to make it interesting.
The topic of the 2nd training was on ‘Digital Classroom Management’ facilitated by Schobal India, a very time appropriate theme for current situation. It was a two day long session, scheduled on 15th and 17th July, 2021 with numerous new ideas on students’ participation and encouragement in online learning sessions.
To stay updated with Cambridge, our teachers also attended another webinar on the Cambridge curriculum of Primary and lower secondary classes updates, held on 3rd August, 2021.
We hope and try to develop the teachers and management staff regularly with upgraded teaching learning sessions as we believe in evolving with time according to demand.
